New BoomReader Feature: Compare Your Reading Logs to the National Average!

The BoomReader team ·

At BoomReader, we’re always looking for new ways to help schools gain more value from their reading data. That’s why we’re excited to launch a brand new feature for schools using our Data Dashboard premium add-on: the ability to compare your school’s reading logs with the BoomReader National Average (BRNA)!

🔍 What Is the BoomReader National Average?

The BoomReader National Average (BRNA) is a rolling average based on real-time reading log data from thousands of students across the UK. This gives us a unique, up-to-date picture of how frequently children are logging their reading.

Now, schools with the Data Dashboard can compare their own reading frequency data directly against this national benchmark.

This means you can now answer questions like:

  • Are our pupils reading as often as others across the country?

  • Where might we need to intervene or support reading routines further?

📈 Why This Matters

Understanding how your school’s reading habits compare to others is a powerful insight. With this new tool, you’ll be able to:

  • Celebrate areas where your school is above average 🎉

  • Set realistic, achievable reading targets based on the national context

  • Empower staff with the data they need to drive reading improvement

It’s all about turning reading data into meaningful action and giving teachers the confidence to make informed decisions.

🛠️ Don’t Have the Data Dashboard Yet?

This powerful new comparison tool is just one of the many features included in the BoomReader Data Dashboard—our premium analytics add-on designed to give schools a complete view of their reading progress.

With the Data Dashboard, you’ll unlock:

  • Whole-school and year group reading summaries

  • Pupil-level insights at a glance

  • Targeted filtering by gender, class, and more

  • And now, benchmarking against the national average!
